Event at Coliseum—again 1000’s of people & again young ones. Sen. & cand. Slade Gorton introduced me & it was a repeat of every stop so far—140 young high school cheerleaders all in uniforms in the front row. After speech another Q&A with about 20 donors. And then it was back to Twin Falls Idaho for Steve Symms. Steve & Fran met us at the airport & we motored to the College of Southern Idaho. He & I entered the arena on a mule drawn buck wagon. He introduced me and again a warm enthusiastic crowd highlighted by the college students. Then over to another bldg. for a meeting with 20 donors. High spot for me was a well to do farm family who spoke up and challenged the continued farm subsidies & feel that farming should get back in the mkt. place & off the Fed. hand out. Left Twin Falls for L.A. arrived late afternoon & joined Nancy at Century Plaza & overnight.
