Did my radio show on Dem. blackmail in connection with debt limit extension. A quiet day at home. Phoned Justice Powell & discussed the politics of Sen. committee on confirming Judge Bork to take Powells place. He’s going to have a talk with Justice (Chf.) Rehnquist. So far Powell has thought it improper for him to endorse Bork. I hope he can see his way clear to do it. Things liven up after dinner. Ron & Doria & Nancys brother Dick & wife Patty arrive.
