A meeting on what House defense cuts would mean. They would be a disaster & set us back to where we were in 1980. Besides they are demanding literally micro management of security matters, taking away the Presidential powers that office has always has.
Nancy & I lunched with Suzanne Massie—back from another trip to Russia. It is fascinating to hear of her experiences & also very educational.
Over to E.O.B. to talk to leaders of org’s. supporting tax reform. A haircut—then a lengthy session of T.V. footage with Cong. Candidates for campaign use.
And finally a nostalgic evening for me—a black tie dinner at the Willard Hotel with fund raisers for the Reagan Scholarship Fund at Eureka College. I was given a 1932 class ring which I couldn’t afford in 1932.
