A quiet day ahead—spent most of it reading. First—homework then a book about the “N.Y. Times” which explains a lot of things about the “Times” that annoy me. A Raymond Price (on the other hand) in the Wash. Post has a column pointing out that the only time Cong. engages in carnivals like the Iran Contra affair is when the Cong. is Dem. & the Pres. Republican. Cong. has been Dem. for 46 out of 50 yrs. Mermie arrived too late for dinner because of big storm, streets blocked by fallen trees etc.
