Mermie & Winter arrived—a very cold day. A Budget meeting. I think Dave S. tells us more than we need to know for budget decisions. Met with Senior Exec. Service & made Presidential awards to a number of them for special achievements in their particular agencies & departments. These are cash awards of up to $20,000. Photo with our Ambas. to Hungary. Two hours at E.O.B. rehearsing for tomorrow night’s press conf. Back to E.O.B. for Fred Fieldings Xmas party. And at 6:15 down stairs for Secret Service party.
