Egypt and China announce they are recognizing the Palestinian state proclaimed by the Palestine National Council.
Slept in—brkfst. about 9:15 A.M. Then up & turned on T.V. for “Meet the Press” & “This Week.” After lunch I tried to pack some papers for transfer to Calif. Finally tired of that & took a shot at T.V. Dick, Patti & Geof. arrived. They’re going to Calif. with us—well not Geoff. They arrived at 4:15. Nancy is at Eng. Embassy saying goodbye to Angus & Alexandra.
Nancy home & now into Black tie for Kay Graham dinner party—honoring us. Off to the party & it really was a smash. From beginning to end it was a gathering of old & new friends and a warm friendly gathering. Home by about 11:15 and to bed.
