Usual staff meetings, some desk work & over to visit Jefferson Jr. High—one of the schools picked for excellence in ed. The Principal Mrs. White is the answer. In 3 yrs. she has brought this inner city school up to that level. She is black and a truly dedicated person The student body is 91% black, 1% White. I saw 7th graders doing Shakespeare & a Math. class that did better than I can now. In the afternoon—over to the Marriott Hotel to address representatives of the 262 secondary schools honored for excellence in ed.
