Spent most of afternoon reading & sweating out the thunder showers that kept me wondering if the “In Performance at the W.H.” was going to go on or not. But God was good to us—early in the evening the rain stopped & the show went on late—at 9:20 P.M. It was the greatest such performance of all that have been put on. Nancy & I did our little stint at the shows finale & then it was up to bed.
