Another big day—had my vitals checked then climbed into a Sincere blue suit & went to the Oval O. & a cabinet meeting for reports on the success of our visit by Pres. Li, the budget, the farm bill, the tax reform, & the Justice dept. brought us up to date on the effort to prosecute the TWA hi-jackers.
Topped that off with an interview by Hugh Sidey & then back to a robe & PJs.
Think we caught the tail end of the tropical storm of the Carolinas. All h--l broke loose & 3 of the potted trees on the Truman balcony were blown over. I hope this doesn’t delay Nancy who is in Ohio & due back today and she made it. Now I’ll relax & sleep well.
