A sad day. Taped my broadcast early—10:30 A.M. so we could attend funeral for Frank Reynolds at St. Matthews Cathedral. The ceremony at the Cathedral was very moving. Each of Frank’s sons did a eulogy—the most touching was by his youngest son who spoke to his father not about him. We came back to the W.H. & then went on to Arlington for the grave side service—military with taps & all. Frank was a truly fine man. We’re going to miss him. On to Camp David—some pool side time. Early evening there was a thunderstorm.
