It’s Cherry Blossom Time—56 Princesses from our states & territorys accompanied by the Queen & the Japanese Queen came to the Rose Garden to announce that fact. Then the Eisenhower Exchange Fellows visited the Cabinet room. They are from 22 countries. It was a brief but pleasant meeting. This really wasn’t a typical Monday. After the issues lunch I helicoptered to Baltimore threw out the 1st ball as the Orioles opened the BaseBall season against the White Sox. Back to Wash. & Paul Laxalts annual Lamb Fry at the Georgetown Club. The delicacy of the evening (an old Basque custom) lamb gonads. They made for lots of humor in the toasts but they’re not my favorite food. It was a fun evening.
