Radio Broadcast then off to Monticello for a tour of T.J’s. home. The visit was fascinating. An hours helicopter time then a landing on the lawn—a place of surpassing beauty. I had never known the inventive side of T.J. His innovations—the first “dumb waiter” & so many other conveniences that would be considered advances even today. Back to the W.H. and the annual Gridiron dinner. My quips got a good reception.
