Most of early meetings taken up by reports of speech. Then a meeting with Doug Morrow. He’s done a remarkable job on the U.S. Space Foundation & his plan for T.V. campaign on the “spin offs” from the Shuttle experiments. He gave me some names to call re the T.V. spots.
After that it was over to E.O.B. to address Nat. Newspaper Assn.—publishers in town for annual meeting. A pleasant & rewarding time.
There is no question the response to the speech is widespread. Ended afternoon with a meeting—cabinet room with Sen. Steering committee. It’s an unofficial group of solid conservative supporters. We cleared the deck on a number of issues & arranged to have more such meetings.
