A lunch at the Carleton for about 30 of our friends given by Ardie & Harriet D. I called it the 3rd day of my birthday. Again it was a wonderful time. Jean Smith told me that a long time Washingtonian (Dem.) told her we were the 1st to ever maintain a circle of friends & have them at the W.H. as we have done.
