1st Anniversary. Charles Wick & Bob Gray presented a large book with pictures, clippings & mementos of the inaugural balls that were held a year ago in 150 cities connected by closed circuit T.V. The day however was a tough one. A budget meeting and pressure from everyone to give in to increases in excise taxes tied to Federalism program. I finally gave in but my heart wasn’t in it. The Eagles held a big $1000 a plate dinner at the Hilton for 2400 people. It was a beautiful party celebrating the anniversary.
