President Reagan leaves for New Orleans, LA to address the National Savings and Loan Convention.

A busy morning & then off to New Orleans to address the Nat. Savings & Loan convention. But 1st a briefing by Geo. Shultz on his meeting with Andropov at the Brezhnev funeral. He agrees now I was right not to go. Gov. Dave Treen met me (I did a fund raiser for him). He runs for re-election in ’83. The main address to 1000’s of delegates was very well received. Then we flew to Miami & overnighted there at the Omni hotel.
