As usual “get away day” was bright, beautiful & warm. Nancy didn’t ride—worked on her book. I rode & it was great. Back to the house & called Bob Jones (strawberry man)—he has given us a large photo of the ranch as it was back in the 20’s. Also an old “branding iron” of the ranch at that time.

Lunch, some picture signing for Barney, packing, a shower & all dressed up for trip to L.A. & drop by dinner for Simon Wiesenthal—80th Birthday. Mainly it was to announce the start of the Wiesenthal museum on the Holocaust. It was a pleasant evening with a number of our old friends present. Arnold Schwartzenegger made a speech that was most generous about me. Then Nancy received the 1st of their “Museum of Tolerance Awards.” My turn & I was presented the 1988 “Humanitarian Award.” And back to the Beverly Biltmore to bed.
