Saw them off & back to the W.H. Having a dinner with sports flavor. Father Hesburgh of N.D. is presenting us with a print of “Knute Rockne All American.” I’ve never owned one. So dinner with a lot of sports figures & a running of the film. It was quite an experience to see it again after all these years and to see it in such company—Sonny Jorgenson, Gale Sayers, Merlin Olson, Joe Theisman,—the Notre Dame coach & many, many more. For me it was a truly nostalgic evening.
