This was my day at Baltimore. Marine 1 landed at Ft. McHenry where I spoke briefly to a high school history class that was on a field trip. Then I went to the fund raising lunch (only it was after lunch) for Linda Chavez—campaign for the Sen. Finally Mac Mathias who is stepping down sent a letter of endorsement of her candidacy. Then after my speech I did the usual receiving line & photos—a hundred or so top donors. Once again we set a new record money wise for the state. It was a good day. Back to the W.H. about 3 P.M. & called it a day.
