President Reagan participates in a meeting with the leadership of the Utah Republican State Party and the Utah Reagan-Bush '84 organization.
President Reagan meets with Gordon B. Hinckley, Second Counselor of the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Again a meeting with our “Reagan-Bush” leaders. Then a visit with the Mormon Church leadership at the Mormon Admin. Bldg. They are really impressive. For the 1st time I met with three women each of whom heads up the churchs programs for children, young people & women. They were very likeable ladies.
Then over to the Am. Legion Convention (17,000) of them. Was well received, particularly when I gave my own version of religions place in public life. That has been very distorted since the Prayer Brkfst. in Dallas. On to Chicago. At the Hyatt I had a suite that looked like a lobby. The living room was 85 ft. long.
