President Reagan receives support for his nomination of Justice Bork by a large national organization of law enforcement agencies.
President Reagan participates in a photo session on the White House balcony for Life magazine.
I spoke too soon about the Manila uprising. It may be more important than it seemed yesterday.
Met with a number of individuals headed by Gov. Jim Thompson (Ill.). Each was head of a large nat. org. of people in law enforcement. They are going to join together in support of Bork for Supreme Ct.
Then upstairs for some photos—1 with a 12 yr. old girl who is a terminal Leukemia case. Then a photo session on the balcony for Life Mag. At 4 P.M. Nancy arrived as did Mike Abrams for a review of our gym schedules. He’s pleased with how we are doing. Now it’s a quiet dinner—just us and tomorrow we’ll be off to the ranch.
It seems the coup in the Philippines is under control but casualtys have been considerable.
