President Reagan addresses a crowd of 7,000 American and Soviet citizens at a conference in Chautauqua, New York.
The President and First Lady enjoy dinner at the Bloomingdale residence with a group of long time friends.
Nancy off on her errands & at 11:35 A.M. I left for the main hotel bldg. next door and addressed Town Hall of Calif. Also by satellite 7,000 Americans & Soviet citizens at a conference in Chautauqua N.Y. Everything went well & speech was well received. Back in the suite—a brief visit Gov. Guy Hunt & wife (Alabama). They are in town with a delegation of Ala. business people.
A little mail done & then Dr. House to check my ears. Everything is fine—no deterioration of hearing.
Nancy is back & now we go to Betsy Bloomingdales for dinner. And just like last night—a pleasant evening with old friends—some the same as last night.
Home & bed.
