Tomorrow is D-Day in the House. Most of the day with Congressmen—in groups & singly. Met with the hard nose conservatives in the State Dining Room. Met with about 20 “Boll Weevills.” They are pretty much with us. Then a series of one on one’s. Interesting photo opportunity in Rose Garden with Tip O’Neill, Boling & our leaders as a bipartisan group for the tax bill. Tonite a dinner in the W.H. for a group of undecideds. Last night or the night before Nancy says Loyal asked for the Chaplain at the hospital in the middle of the night.
