President Reagan returns to the White House from the weekend at Camp David.

The usual—my radio speech. Horse back ride and a swim. Sunday the pool again. Call from Bill Clark re Chad. It’s heated up. Quadafi’s forces have entered the fight on the side of the anti-govt. rebels. Habre is in retreat. We’re trying to get France to move. They’ve let us know Chad is in their sphere of influence. Back to the W.H.
