Photos with some Ambassador appointees—most of them career diplomats except—1 Bob Nesen from Calif. on his way to Australia. One of the career types a former All American football player from U. of Iowa. He & his wife were on their way to Malawi. I hope they like it. They were very enthused and very nice. Then met with Amb. Habib who has been performing miracles in holding off a Syrian-Israeli war for 3 weeks. He has the Saudis involved pressuring the Syrians to be reasonable. He’ll go back after the weekend.
