Key Facts
President Reagan attends a National Security Council meeting to discuss Central America.
President Reagan meets with advisors to discuss the Administrations goals and policies through the end of the President's term.
The U.S. federal government begins a yearlong amnesty program.
Staff time—began planning for our new agenda. A meeting on that scheduled for this afternoon.
N.S.C.—mainly talked about Central Am.
After lunch a Rose Garden ceremony for signing of exec. order on W.H. Conference on drugs.—Well attended.
Then an N.S.C. meeting—briefed on Cereso—(Pres. Guatemala) visit. We’ll have to work on him to get him in line with Honduras & El Salvador against the Sandinistas—he’s known to play games.
Finally an advisors meeting to get on with our next 2 yrs. agenda & what are the important things we seek to achieve. Most important is budget reform, a balanced budget amendment etc.
Then upstairs—Mommies home thank Heaven.
