* * *

A partly cloudy morning—warm when I went out at about 8:30—Then it became almost instantly & sharply cool. A wind out of the North East through the wind tunnel. Still we had a nice ride. Lunch—Julius was here to do Nancys hair. Then Dennis, Barney & I were up on Mt. Rhino & we’ve just about finished our pruning & clearing.

Howard Baker came for dinner. He’d been out to the islands—Santa Rosa. We’re still no further with Noriega. I’ve O.K.’d further financial moves for whatever they are worth. Now he’s gone back to Santa Barbara & it’s bed time.
