Fog so thick a question as to whether we could helicopter out. By 2 P.M. a beautiful day and our first sunshine in days. Back to the W.H.—I vetoed (my 2nd) a bill to give me allocation of fuel controls. Signed a disaster order for flooded Ft. Wayne. Burt Reynolds for dinner. Had not known him well in Hollywood so surprised at his seriousness and his sincere crusade spirit against drugs etc.
