President Reagan meets with his Emergency Committee for American Trade.
President Reagan is awarded by Muscle Training Magazine as the "best physically conditioned President in history."
Staff meetings etc. then over to E.O.B. for meeting of Emergency Committee for Am. Trade—this group is helping us fight off Cong. attempts to pass protectionist trade bills. Lunched with V.P.—Geo. S. & Bud McFarlane. It was a good gabfest about Soviets, arms reductions etc. & how to get moving again on START talks. Cab. Council meeting on Commerce, trade, food & Agric. We have to stop a silly tarriff bill on wine. Even the respectable winerys dont want it. After personnel time had a busy string of visitors—Simon Wiesenthal who has devoted his life to tracking down Nazi’s who participated in the Holocaust & bringing them to Justice. Muscle Training Mag.—honored me as best physically conditioned Pres. in Hist. John Fogarty made me a member of the Nat. Press Club. Some Photos with a variety of people including Elise DuPont who is going to run for Cong. She is Gov. Pete DuPont’s wife (Delaware). Taped some presentations for 3 affairs & home & mother.
