Back to the routine except Cong. is out of town. Staff meeting—Don R. & Geo. Bush—then an N.S.C. meeting or briefing I should say. A brief stop by—Ezra Taft Benson—Pres. of Mormon Church. He was also Sec. of Agri. for Ike. A little desk work then the N.S.P.G. meeting re Quadaffi & what we’re going to do about him & terrorism. I think we’re all agreed we must do something in view of the massacres in the airports at Rome & Vienna. No decision—we’re meeting again tomorrow. Upstairs for the “issues” lunch—nothing dramatic with Cong. gone. I did however say when they come back I must have some meetings with our Repub. Reps. & Sens. A haircut then an hour or so in the family theatre rehearsing for tomorrow nights press conf.
And upstairs for a little desk work.
